A prescriptive thesis also uses evidence, logic, measurement, analysis, interpretation and explanation. However, unlike a descriptive thesis, it also

This is the "so what" chapter of the dissertation or thesis. So you got the results you did. So you synthesized and analyzed those results as far as possible. But what does it mean? Why should anyone care? Here is where you get to justify all of your hard work. Because you showed that high school students learn better when they start school later, that adds to the rest of the studies that show that also, adding one more nudge toward responsible school reform. Because you showed that eating dairy led to more sinus infections in your experimental group than in your control group, you can add one more study to the growing body of work that shows dairy products are on balance unhealthy for human consumption. Whatever you studied, it has import, and this is where you "bring it on home" for your reader. GraduateWriter can help.
The notion of the developmental cycle (Engeström, 1987, p. 189) helps tolocalize the phase in the development of the work of the team. The cycleis a spiral that leads to a qualitative change of the activity system. Thefirst phase of a developmental cycle is the "need state". Characteristic ofthis phase is vague discontentment that is often directed towardspeople or groups of people instead of towards the structural features ofthe activity system. The second phase is called "double bind" (seeBateson, 1972). It means a phase when a sharpening contradiction hasformed between certain factors of the activity system. Thediscontentment of the members of a workplace is directed to more clearlydefined goals. The contradiction is experienced as intolerable. Solutionof double bind requires analysis, gaining conceptual mastery of thecontradiction. The third phase, "outlining new object and motive andforming a new model of activity", is where members of a workplacesketch and plan a new solution to present contradictions. As an exampleof this phase the formation of teams may be mentioned. The formationof teams includes developing new strategic instruments and forms ofcollaboration and division of labor. The fourth phase, "the applicationand generalization of a new model of activity", means that this newmodel is applied in everyday work. This often occurs the testing ofstrategic partial solutions. Finally, the fifth phase, "the consolidationand assessment of a new line of activity", means transition to a state, where new practices are followed systematically. With the help of thedevelopmental cycle model, I will return in Chapter 10, to the presentcontradiction of the studied teams, and to the contradictions which theteams were created to resolve.
Almost all of us—even if we don’t do it consciously—look early in an essay for a one- or two-sentence condensation of the argument or analysis that is to follow. We refer to that condensation as a thesis statement.Even if your assignment doesn’t ask a specific question, your thesis statement still needs to answer a question about the issue you’d like to explore. In this situation, your job is to figure out what question you’d like to write about.Almost all assignments, no matter how complicated, can be reduced to a single question. Your first step, then, is to distill the assignment into a specific question. For example, if your assignment is, “Write a report to the local school board explaining the potential benefits of using computers in a fourth-grade class,” turn the request into a question like, “What are the potential benefits of using computers in a fourth-grade class?” After you’ve chosen the question your essay will answer, compose one or two complete sentences answering that question.Narrow the topic.
Your readings about the topic, however, have led you to the conclusion that elementary school children are consuming far more sugar than is healthy.Brainstorm the topic.
Let’s say that your class focuses upon the problems posed by changes in the dietary habits of Americans. You find that you are interested in the amount of sugar Americans consume.
